ALL AGES:
Love Those Letters: In this fun drop in program, children will explore literacy in some unique and curious ways! (EarlyON – Virtual)

Exploring the Great Outdoors: This virtual drop-In program will take place regularly on Tuesday & Thursday mornings and offers families a chance to get in touch with spending time in the great outdoors. On Tuesdays, staff will share an idea or theme for outdoor play that your family can take part in. Your family then takes the plan away and does an outdoor activity based on that discussion. Thursday mornings will be a chance to get together and review what you did and share how much fun you had. Tell us what worked, what didn’t work and what you learned. (EarlyON – Virtual)

Facebook Live – Songs & Stories: Children & adults can drop in & follow along as CPCC staff sing songs, read books, and promote early literacy concepts. (Program size may be limited and entry to the meeting restricted. (EarlyON – Virtual)

Good Morning Friends: Join “Good Morning, Friends” at 8:30 am everyday weekday morning. In a quick 15 minutes, CPCC staff will cover some short, simple and sweet learning activities for you to do with your child today. Make learning together fun, easy and “in the moment” and know that you’re helping your child to learn and build those important skills! (EarlyON – Virtual)

Let’s Make Lunch: A registered program that offers an advance shopping list for a lunch that children can create and enjoy. Grown up assistance will be required for some activities. (EarlyON – Virtual)

Child Development Chat: Do you have questions about your child’s development? Join an EarlyON Resource Consultant and an EarlyON Program Facilitator to discuss various topics, have your questions answered and be guided to resources about early child development. (EarlyON – Virtual)

INFANT PROGRAMS (0-12 months)

Baby Playtime & Baby Chat (0-12 months): Treasure those “magical moments” as you explore the world with your little one. At this fun, virtual playtime, parents will be introduced to some activities you can do at home with your baby to support healthy development. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre)

Infant Massage (0-8 months): This comprehensive 6-week series combines parent/caregiver education/discussion and infant massage instructions and practice. Each session is designed to facilitate nurturing touch and communication which strengthen the critical relationship between infants and parents/caregivers. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre)

Infant Mother Goose (Multi-language) (0-12 months): Adults and infants are introduced to an interactive program of songs, rhymes and cuddly, tickly games babies love. New this month, we are piloting a new multi-language component that will incorporate a combination of English, Hindi and Punjabi songs, rhymes and stories, This program is designed to build the healthy attachment between adult and infant and enhance early literacy and communication skills along with social interest development. Shake, Rattle & Roll (0-12 months): Adults & infants will join an interactive drop-in virtual program to help infants begin to build body awareness & some of those important physical skills they need to practice. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre)

You & Your Baby: A virtual drop in opportunity for new mothers to make new contacts with other first time moms. Education and support is provided on topics such as feeding and nutrition,safety, family adjustments, infant health, discipline etc. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre)

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS (Ages 2-4 years)

Math is Everywhere: As we explore our environment we discover that math is everywhere! Open ended & inquiry-based activities will highlight early mathematical & numeracy literacy & support your child to build many skills in the domains of development. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre)

Preschool Time: Children will investigate the important work of inquiry based play.  Your child’s curiosity will be engaged by early learning activities which help build on those important developmental domains. This program also incorporates the four foundations of learning, from “How Does Learning Happen”, which are important for children to grow & flourish. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre)

School Here I Come: Parents/caregivers & children will learn and play together to help your child develop & practice skills needed for school. Your child’s natural curiosity will be encouraged along with inquiry, problem solving, language & communication, cognitive, fine motor & social skill development. Adults will receive tips & information and gain strategies to support your child to engage in learning and build those important skills. The program is based on the principles & framework of “How Does Learning Happen?” Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years. (EarlyON – Virtual or In Centre) Note: This program is adapted when offered in a virtual environment during the Covid-19 pandemic

CUSTOMIZED PROGRAMS:
Let’s Get Together: (All Ages / Parents) Parenting Children with Special Needs (Adults / Children – alternating each week): Drop in and play and connect with other families to explore the various issues that surround parenting a child with special needs. Registration Required, call to inquire.

Families, Food & Fun (CAPC – All Ages) – “Families, Food and Fun” is a Growing Together in Peel program generously funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada – Community Action Program for Children (CAPC). This program focuses on improving the health and well-being of young children, as well as offering support and new skills to their parents and/or caregivers.

Adjustments After Birth program: this wonderful program offers Post Partum Mood Disorder Peer Support and is offered to mothers who need additional support after the birth/adoption of a child. Mothers share their experience in a safe and supportive environment and learn strategies to help them cope with this challenging time of adjustment. In Person Programs (currently on hold due to COVID-19)

Family Time – Play is how children make sense of the world and is the most effective method of learning for young children. Ideas and skills become meaningful, tools for learning are practiced and concepts are understood. Adults and children can drop-in and explore a variety of play activities in a safe and stimulating environment. A DEAM (Drop Everything And Move) exercise activity is facilitated daily by staff to promote and support physical literacy and activity. Children and adults are invited to join in for Songs and Stories, an opportunity to participate together in reading books and listening to stories, promoting early literacy learning, social engagement, and language and communication skills. (Drop In – All Ages)

Physical Literacy For Families – Physical literacy activities will help children to develop those beginning fundamental skills including balance, throwing, kicking etc. Engaging and fun activities will help children build confidence and competence and promote resiliency. (Registration Required – All Ages)

Baby Playtime – Treasure those “magical moments” as you explore the world along with your little one. At this fun and social playtime your baby will build on skills developed in infancy in all developmental domains and build on sense of self. You will gain information and gather ideas for activities you can do at home with your baby. (Registration Required – Parents and children 0-18)

Physical Literacy for Babies – Those important aspects of physical literacy and activity will be introduced to you and your baby. The activities will encourage important skills of reaching and holding, sitting, rolling, crawling etc. to build strength and coordination. (Registration Required – Parents with children 0-12 months)

Shake, Rattle & Roll – Infants will begin to learn body awareness, practice gross and fine motor skills, spatial exploration and socialize as they play. Music, movement and the play environment will engage families in this amusing early learning program. (Registration Required – Parents and children 6-12 months)

Play and Learn – Play is a means to early learning that capitalizes on children’s natural curiosity & exuberance” Children will participate in social interactions, shared exploration, play & learning with adults & children. (Registration Required – All Ages)

Preschool Time- Children will continue the important work of inquiry based play. The play environment will reflect your child’s interests and curiosity including early learning activities which help build on those important developmental domains. This program also incorporates the four foundations of learning, from “How Does Learning Happen”, which are important for children to grow & flourish. (Registration Required – Parents and children 2 – 4 years)

Toddler Mother Goose – This inspirational, interactive program for adults and toddlers will use songs, finger plays, rhymes and storytelling to enhance your toddler’s early language, literacy and communication and social skills. (Registration Required – Parents and children 12-36 months)

Toddler Time – “It’s never too early to embrace inquiry based learning!” You and your toddler will engage in an environment filled with open ended early learning materials and loose parts. The creative/explorative play will build on social, emotional, language, communication and literacy, cognitive and motor skills. (Registration Required – Parents and children 12-36 months)

Creative Kids – Children will engage and express their creative and imaginative skills through art, sensory and exploring loose parts. Child will make their own choices according to their interests while adults follow their child’s lead in the play. Adults will learn some innovative ideas to enhance their child’s learning in fun, natural and budget wise activities. (Registration Required – Parents and children 0-6 years)

Adventures in Math and Science – Beginning math and science concepts will be infused in the early learning environment. Adults and children will explore, investigate and experience play based math and science activities. These activities foster critical thinking and problem solving from an early age. (Registration Required – Parents and children 2-4 years)
