Consulting Services
Early Literacy Specialists (Region of Peel ~ Children's Services)
Early Literacy Specialists provide support and consultation to parents and
caregivers to promote children's early language and literacy development.
Helpful ideas, resources and educational activities are shared with families to
help develop reading and writing skills in everyday life. On-site monthly.

Public Health Nurses (Peel Public Health)
Public Health Nurses provide current, credible health related information
for parents and caregivers of young children on topics such as general health,
immunizations and communicable diseases. They also deliver health related
presentations with a focus on nutrition and discipline. Referrals are made
to other community resources if appropriate.
Child Behaviour Consultants (Peel Children's Centre}
Child Behaviour Consultants meet with families who have concerns about their
child's behaviour and/or mental health. Consultants discuss
social-emotional and behavioural issues and can make recommendations or help
with referrals. On-site twice a month by appointment only. To book an appointment, contact our

Speech & Language Consultants (Peel Speech & Language)
Speech & Language Consultants meet with families regarding speech, language
and communication concerns. The consultants will determine the
appropriateness of referrals to the Halton/Peel Speech and Language program
and/or other agencies. Strategies are also provided to help facilitate
communication development while families are awaiting referrals. On-site

Autism Consultants (Kerry's Place Autism Services)
Autism Consultants meet with families to discuss issues and concerns
specific to their situations. Appointments are available the third
Wednesday of each month. To book an appointment, call Linda Jongsma at
905-457-1130 at ext. 206. Please indicate that you would like to book a
Family Resource Day appointment at the Bolton Early Years Centre. When
leaving a message, provide contact information and briefly outline the concerns
and issues to be addressed.
Support Services
Adjustments After Birth (Postpartum Mood Disorder Peer Support Group)
This support group is for mothers affected by postpartum depression and
related mood disorders. Share your experience in a safe and supportive
environment and learn strategies to help you cope during this challenging time
of adjustment. Group is held weekly at our main location in Bolton.
Group and childcare are provided free of charge. Registration is required.

Let's Get Together: Parenting Children with Special Needs
An inclusive program for families presented by the Caledon Parent-Child
Centre and Brampton/Caledon Community Living. Come play and connect with
other families to explore the various issues that surround parenting a child

Post Adoption Group
This group is designed to support families on their post adoption journey.
It addresses the unique and complex issues experienced by
families who have adopted, domestically or internationally, privately or
publicly. For parents of children 0-6 years of age. To register,

Growing Together in Peel: Support for Low Income Families
This program provides support and information that low income families need
to raise their children. It is designed for families with children 0-6
years of age who have a total household income of less than $45,000. To

Breastfeeding Clinics
Please note that clinics are no longer available at our location. To
access a breastfeeding clinic near you, call Health Line Peel at 905-799-7700
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Clinics are free of charge.
Support for Abused Women and their Children
Private, confidential counselling for abused women (with or without
children) is available with Family Transition Place (FTP) counsellors at the CPCC.
Caledon women dealing with the emotional and psychological impacts of abuse and
trauma can meet with a Community Counsellor. Women who need legal or
housing support, as well as assistance with budgeting, safety planning, support
with legal issues, problem solving and/or linking with community resources can
meet with a Transitional Support Counsellor. Appointments can be made by
call FTP at 905-584-4357. Child care can be arranged. 24 Hour crisis
support and information are available at 905-584-HELP or TTY 519-942-1651 for
the deafened and hard of hearing. Emergency shelter and transportation to

Early Learning Activities and Programs
Family Time - all ages
Adults and children can drop-in and explore a variety of play and activity centres in a stimulating environment.
No registration required.
Circle Time - all ages
Children and adults will
participate together in singing familiar songs and listening to new and
favourite stories. This circle/story time is offered mid-morning
during Family Time. No registration required, but groups will be limited.
Super Circle - all ages
This theme-based circle/story time includes songs, stories and a craft activity
for families to enjoy. Sign-in required on a first come, first
served basis.
Bedtime Stories - all ages Join us at 6:30 p.m. on
Thursday evenings during Family Time for special bedtime stories. Wear
your pajamas so you are ready to crawl under the covers when you get home.

Infant Mother Goose - 0 to 12 months Adults and children will
be introduced to an interactive program of songs, rhymes and cuddly games
that encourage early communication and foster bonding and attachment.

Sign With Your Baby - 6 to 18 months Babies have control over their
hands long before they develop the skills required for speech. More and more parents,
grandparents and caregivers are recognizing the many benefits of this early
communication. Registration
required.
Baby Playtime - 6 to 18 months This program is designed to
provide a social and fun playtime for parents and their infants.
Includes a Circle Time. Registration required.
Toddler Mother Goose - 12 to 30 months This interactive
program for adults and children focuses on the use of songs, finger plays, rhymes and storytelling
designed to enhance early communication and social development. Registration required.
Ready. Set. Grow - 18 to 36 months Adults and children will play
and grow together in a social, child-centred environment. Exciting learning opportunities
will focus on numeracy, language and literacy. Registration
required.
Move & Groove - 2 to 6 years This program introduces young children
to the concepts of music, movement
and dramatic play. The focus is to encourage listening, watching, imitating, gross motor
development and language skills. Registration required.
Movin' & Groovin' with My Dad - 2 to 6 years This program introduces young children
to the concepts of music, movement
and dramatic play while building a strong father-child relationship.

Creative Kids - 2 to 6 years This program focuses on creativity.
Children and adults will explore all aspects of the arts including drama, music
and visual arts. Basic concepts encourage listening, watching, imitating, gross motor
development and language skills. Registration required.
Play & Learn - 2 to 6 years "Play is the work of a child". An
hour of fun-filled educational activities will be provided to children and their
accompanying adults to experience, explore, play and learn together.
Offered at the Cheltenham Satellite only. Registration required.
Fun With Phonics - 3 to 6 years Structured activities will
enhance cognitive development and reading readiness, including letter and
sound recognition. The learning concepts explored will help
prepare young children for school and reinforce concepts for those already
in school. Registration required.
Fun With Math - 3 to 6 years Beginning math concepts will be
introduced through play, art and sensory experiences. Each session will
focus on a different math area such as matching, sorting, counting and
measuring. Registration required.
Fun With Science - 3 to 6 years Hands on experiments will help your
child to find out why things happen in our fascinating world. Your child's
natural curiousity will be encouraged along with inquiry and problem solving,
language and social skills. Registration required.
Math & Reading Club - JK & SK students A tutoring program designed
to support JK and SK students who would benefit from additional assistance with
language and/or math concepts. The tutoring sessions incorporate
interactive activities that encourage literacy and numeracy skills. Our
staff work in conjunction with parents and teachers to tailor the program to
students' particular needs. Registration required.
Parenting Education Opportunities
Friday Morning Workshops
Parents and caregivers will participate in workshops dealing with a variety of parenting subjects.
For a small fee, children can attend the "Me & My Friends" program.

Me & My Friends - 0 to 6 years
While parents and caregivers participate in parenting education workshops, the children in their care will play in a variety of play centres in a stimulating environment. An interactive story time and a snack time will be included. Children will participate with experienced staff and volunteers.

You & Your Baby - Parents and Infants 0 to 6 months
New mothers are provided opportunities to make new contacts with other first time moms. Education and support is provided on topics such as feeding and nutrition, safety, family adjustments, infant health, discipline etc. Babies remain with moms, no child care is provided.

Infant Massage - Parents and Infants 0 to 6 months
This five week course teaches parents the importance of human touch, the benefits of
massage and how to use massage techniques to calm and connect with your baby.
Registration required. Cost: $40
Parenting Your Infant - Parents and Infants 6 to 12 months
This program provides helpful information on parenting your infant. Educational
topics include safety, introduction to literacy, the importance of music, etc.
Adults will take home information to support and stimulate their child's healthy
development. Babies remain with parents, no child care is provided.

Open Door - all ages
Parents and caregivers can utilize an extensive parenting book and audio/visual library and access information on
local family support services. Resources can be accessed during Family Time.
